Forensic fans can rejoice with the news that CBS is reviving the show that began our fascination with offense scene investigation with the pickup of a new spinoff, CSI: Vegas.

"Twenty-one years ago, we launched CSI and watched in awe every bit this new cinematic series launched an unabridged genre and became a groundbreaking juggernaut that still has global resonance today," Kelly Kahl, president, CBS Entertainment, announced. "We are thrilled to welcome the adjacent generation of forensic criminalists to the CSI make and unite them with the legendary characters from the past who we still love, including the extraordinary William Petersen and Jorja Play a joke on. Crimefighting technology has avant-garde dramatically over the last several years, and combined with classic CSI storytelling, we can't wait to lookout man this new CSI team do what they do all-time: follow the testify."

The new series has been in the works for a yr and was originally planned to premiere timed to the 20th anniversary of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation last October. But those plans were canceled by COVID-19. Give-and-take, at that time, was that the anniversary show was but going to be 6 episodes, and so patience is paying off with a whole flavour of the series coming this autumn.

"I'thousand excited to be bringing back the CSI franchise to all our fans who have been so loyal to u.s. for all these years," says Jerry Bruckheimer, whose Jerry Bruckheimer Television produced the show with CBS. "And to be back in Las Vegas where information technology all started over 20 years ago makes it even more special. We've enjoyed working on this project with CBS and look forward to welcoming back Baton, Jorja and Wallace every bit they join a new group of talented actors in CSI: Vegas."

What is CSI: Vegas about?
